Little Somethings For Small Spaces

I am in the early stages of redecorating my NYC apartment (translation – small space) It’s a great time to give an old space a facelift, since home trends are showing a lot of mixing different styles together for a more eclectic feel.  I am trying to add in some modern elements along with a few ethnic touches in my currently vintage & traditional décor.  But the big challenge in a small space is making every piece of furniture count.  Here are a few items I am eyeing that are  perfect for small spaces.

I love this small stool that doubles as a footrest.

I can’t wait to get rid of my current clunky desk and replace it with something smaller like this Secretary Desk that closes up when I am not using it, but I can still keep books on top of it when it’s open or closed. And when guests come over, I can close it up to hide any wires and mess!

I need a small sofa to compliment my larger one, and this one will fit nicely into pretty much any space. It will give my place a strong modern splash that it really needs.

For stashing all my cocktail hour needs, I can’t wait to add a Bar Cabinet to my living room.  This one fits the bill because of its clean lines, small footprint but ample storage space.

Finally, anyone who lives in a small space knows it is all about utilizing the vertical space for storage.  I have lots of high shelves, but no easy way to access them.  This awesome ladder may be a little pricey but it is so sleek, I would have no problem leaning it against a wall, out in the open for quick access.

I can’t wait to get my new look integrated & have everyone over for a cocktail party!
