The Gift: Uncle Goose Alphabet Blocks (ranging $32- $98)

The Scoop: For the past 30 years, Uncle Goose has been hand-making classic wooden alphabet blocks out of their factory in Michigan. And while ABC blocks for babies and children is a playroom staple, these blocks are not your average toy. Along with the traditional set of letters and numbers, they’ve steadily been adding different language options to their growing collection of foreign ABC blocks.

Featuring 17 different languages, they offer the more common like French and Spanish to the more niche languages like Arabic and Portuguese. Each block displays a different letter or symbol on one side, and an animal beginning with that letter/symbol on the other; along with the word for it. It’s a great early learning tool for babies and young kids alike.

I recently bought the Italian set for a friend’s baby shower and she was over the moon for it. Being Italian herself, she was excited to share her native tongue with her baby boy to be. And for future brainiacs, they also make specialty sets featuring the Periodic Elements, bug species and presidential blocks.

A Great Gift for: A Baby Shower or New Baby gift for bilingual parents and an educational gift for little learners.
