Bear Grylls Survival Series Line

Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (a.k.a “OR”) is the world’s largest outdoor sports industry gathering! This is THE place to find the hot products, the latest trends and see the “coming soon” goods from over 1000 outdoor lifestyle brands.

The trick for a Gift Guru is to find the fun, unique, helpful and ultimately “gift-able” products from the thousands on hand. Here’s one I love:

The Gift: The Bear Grylls “Survival Series” line (most products available 2/1/12)

The Scoop: Last year Gerber, the renowned knife maker, launched the “Survival Series” line of gear which was developed in partnership with survivalist and “Man vs. Wild” star Bear Grylls. The gear is very functional yet accessible for those with varying degrees of comfort zones in the outdoors. The first wave of “Survival Series” gear brought us the spectacularly awesome Parang Knife.

The Parang is perfect for clearing anything in your way or quite handy in case you get chased by a bear**. Gerber is looking to release the next wave of “Survival Series” gear will early 2012 and will consist of about ten new products. A few that caught my eye were “Canteen/Cup”, the “Hands-Free Torch” and “Scout Essentials Kit”.
