Best Wii Games of 2010
2010 may be remember as the year Wii’s dominance as the active-play video game system ended, but for me, this year will go down as a year the family-friendly console came through with some amazing- a little something for everyone. Whether you’re into sports games, puzzles, retro (yet neo) classics or just plain old family fun, there were games for the Wii that more than delivered.
On the sports side, EA continued to impress with both their franchise titles like “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11” and their effective home fitness titles “EA Sports Active 2” and the very cool “EA Sports Active NFL Training Day”.
A few hit titles to please the creative types this year were the wildly fun puzzler “Create” and the highly anticipated “Sims 3” which finally made it to gaming consoles this year.
This year saw some iconic gaming franchises come out with some really well received updates. “Donkey Kong Country Returns” will certainly prove to be a best-seller for the foreseeable future- it’s a ton of fun and “Sonic Colors” was a come-back title of sorts bringing some pretty amazing graphics and vibrant game play to the Wii.
Lastly, for the family, “Wii Party” has possibly logged the most hours in my console this year- the kids LOVE this one. While “Hasbro Family Game Night 3” brings new life to board game classics. Both game, have plenty of replay value for both the young and young at heart.
For Wii games, 2010 will be tough to beat, but it will certainly be fun to see how games on the maturing console platform continue to evolve in 2011.
