Build Your Own Beef Jerky

I like to consider myself a beef jerky connoisseur. I’ve pretty much tried them all, from your gas station counter variety to locally-made packs from a meat shop. Jerky tends to have the reputation as “mystery meat”, especially the bigger brands, but the makers of SlantShack Jerky are changing all that.

Their focus on their ingredients is evident: using grass-fed and hormone-free beef from the Vermont Highland Cattle Company, and produced on a small scale, it’s definitely not your average snack. You can taste the difference, believe me, I have! It’s the opposite of the tough-almost break your teeth-kind you most commonly find in stores.

What really sets SlantShack jerky apart is their “Build Your Own” concept. Customizable food has certainly been a trend over these past few years, but I’ve never seen a design your own jerky option on the market.  The process is easy, and dare I say, mouthwatering.

- Step 1: Choose your quantity

- Step 2: Choose your meat

- Step 3: Choose your marinade

- Step 4: Choose your rub (My personal favorite – Jerk McGurk’s Wild Rubdown cayenne and brown sugar)

- Step 5: Choose your glaze

And you’re done!

For those who are daunted by too many choices, SlantShack also offers their Chef’s Choice variety packs and Jerky of the Month Club. It’s a totally unique gift for any snack-loving guy or Dad. Just don’t be surprised if you get a phone call asking for more.
