Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (a.k.a “OR”) is the world’s largest outdoor sports industry gathering! This is THE place to find the hot products, the latest trends and see the “coming soon” goods from over 1000 outdoor lifestyle brands.

The trick for a Gift Guru is to find the fun, unique, helpful and ultimately “gift-able” products from the thousands on hand. Here’s one I love:

The Gift: Demerit Badges from Demerit Wear (available now around $4 per badge)

The Scoop: If scouts get merit badges for mastering a useful skill, then a Demerit Badge is issued to those who accomplish fun or even dubious deeds. An ironed-on Demerit Badge has similar look and feel as a scouting badge.

Upon closer inspection however, you’ll see the badge image highlights and celebrates a fun thing or a fun thing gone wrong. Sunburn? Demerit Badge. Coffee Addict? Badge-worthy. Beer Pong lover? there’s one for that. There are hundreds of Demerit Badges to choose from. My favorite? “Gift Junkie” of course.
