Happy Book Lover’s Day!

Yes, there is a holiday for most every hobby, food, and event you can think of if you dig enough. And while some of them are pretty silly, I have to admit, I am liking the idea of Book Lover’s Day which is today.

Remember those PSA’s from way (way) back when: “How’d you get so smart?” Ed Asner asks. “Reading,” the kid replies.

Some things have certainly changed since those PSA’s aired. As a child, I was a voracious reader, but as an adult I have to carve out time to read a handful of books a year. And while the tools we use to read may have changed a lot everything is basically still the same. Reading still makes you smarter. And more creative. And more relaxed.

So, celebrate this holiday by getting yourself and a fellow book lover a gift to encourage that insatiable appetite back to the surface.
