Let’s face it, Christmas is everywhere you look this time of year and it is easy to see how Hanukkah can be put on the backburner. Who doesn’t want to celebrate with beautiful Christmas trees, and festive dĂ©cor? But, ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you that Hanukkah can, yes can be just as exciting, festive and beautiful as Christmas. Hanukkah starts today and lasts for eight days until December 15th. That is eight days of festive dĂ©cor, presents, traditional foods, dreidel games, and menorah lighting! So, it is time to get excited and make sure that Hanukkah has its moment to shine too!

First things first, let’s start with festive décor: No, Hanukkah does not require a Christmas tree, but it does deserve a beautiful menorah. According to tradition, you have to place your menorah in front of your home window for all to see so I think this Mercury Glass Menora or this Manzanita Menorah  will awe all passersby. In our family, siblings and parents each had their own menorahs and let me tell you, was I excited about mine! Having your children personalize their own menorah is a great way to get them pumped for the eight days of the festival of lights! For your sports loving little man, this baseball themed menorah  will score a home run and your pretty little ballerina will surely love a ballet slippers menorah.

Aside from the Menorah, there are many other ways one can celebrate the festive mood with holiday decor and have the kids get in on it too! Start outside of the house by lighting the pathway from your driveway to your door with these dreidel markers. This is a great activity for the whole family to participate in and create a lasting holiday spirit.

The first night of Hanukkah should always be a big deal, with an elaborate dinner where you gather all your favorite and closest people to gather around and enjoy the holiday. This is where you can finally pull out your “only for Hanukkah” dishes and table décor and enlist the kids to help decorate the tables. They will love these festive Tree of Life Menorah Plates.

Also, don’t forget some delicious treats! This set of three personalized Hanukkah cookies will get everyone sugared up and excited about the celebration. Of course, Hanukkah can also be a time for being a little bit trendy with some Handmade Hanukkah Cake Pops, YUM.

These are just a few ways that you can make Hanukkah feel special. How do you like to get your household excited about the Hanukkah holiday?

Shalom!
