Labor Day Holiday Sales Guide

I have to be honest, I’m actually okay with Summer being over. There’s only so many ways I can work an outfit around a 90 degree temperature. With the school year right around the corner and all the new Fall styles in stores, I’m very excited at the prospect of wearing pants on a daily basis again. So while everyone will be taking in some serious R & R this Labor Day weekend, it’s also a great time to score some serious deals in stores and online for the whole family.
It’s time to pack up those white pants and flip-flops and stock up for the new Fall season. Check out our picks from some of the biggest sales happening this weekend.
REI
For the active and outdoorsy types, this outdoor retailer giant has a whole range of specials running.
Save up to 30% off all camp furniture, 50% off sandals and flip-flops, 25% off all big agnes camp gear, 20% off all Yakima and Thule, 25% off selected 2011 bikes, 15% off selected kayaks and canoes, and 15% off all BOB strollers.
I for one will be scooping up this uber-discounted two-person tent as a wedding present for my urban-dwelling friends who like to escape the city on the weekends.
GAP
Just in time for Back to School shopping, Gap is throwing arguably, one of the biggest sales this weekend with up to 40% off all their merchandise.
Save on new fall apparel for men and women, as well as kids and baby styles.
Channel this season’s retro pencil skirt trend (marked down from $49.95 to $37.46) and freshen up your little one’s wardrobes with new coats for Fall.
Macy’s
This mega-department store is having a sale on, well basically everything. With major discounts and free shipping offers on everything from apparel, home goods, electronics, you name it.
You can also use their promo code “FALL” for additional savings. If there was ever a time to “self-gift” yourself a mattress, now would be the time.
For the ladies, treat yourself or a gal pal to a new handbag for Fall. I’m loving the new refined “ladylike” trend that’s big this season. Great for hauling around all your necessities, day or night.
Great for outdoor decor, entertaining and electronics, Frontgate is having a 20% sitewide sale.
With only a few discount exceptions on certain lines, everything else is on major markdown.
For the chefs and family cooks, Fall cuisine is all about soups. Cut down on cooking time with this soup maker and blender, marked down from $199 to $159.
