October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

There are a lot of worthy causes out there, but one that is near and dear to me is Breast Cancer Awareness. About 1 in 8 women will develop Breast Cancer over the course of their life, and it’s the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the U.S, second to skin cancer. So the chances are good that someone you know has been affected by this disease.

In honor of all of the survivors and those still struggling with the disease, we celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October. There are many different ways you can help to raise awareness and further the cause. Whether it’s sporting a pink ribbon, running a race, or buying products that support breast cancer research, each little bit helps.

When it comes to choosing a BCA (Breast Cancer Awareness) product, make sure that a portion of the proceeds actually go towards a reputable organization. Just because something has a pink ribbon on it, (a.k.a “pink-washing”) doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a charitable product.

There’s a huge selection of gifts for good celebrating this cause, so we’ve narrowed down a few of our favorites to share with your friends and family.

Starting Clockwise: Stila BCA Positive and Pretty Palette | Cookies For A Cure – Susan G. Komen Foundation Treats Gift | Dogeared Give Better Hope Pendant | Personalized Pink Team Tee | Breast Cancer Awareness Frame | Promise Me How a Sister’s Love Launched the Global Movement to End Breast Cancer
