Pets : Summer Trend Report

The summer solstice is this week and that means that it’s time to update our wardrobes, decor and gift selections to reflect the warm weather and sunshine! To honor this transition, our editors are taking you on a tour of what’s “hot” for summer in their areas of expertise.

The biggest trend for pets this summer is travel safety. Summer means travel and traveling with your pets is more popular and acceptable than ever. There are tons of dog-friendly hotels (nice ones too!) that let your pooch stay with you in the room.  So, to make sure that you get the most out of your trips without compromising your little buddy’s safety, I am here to tell you some pet travel safety tips for the summer.

First, you want to consider getting a crate or carrier like the Soft-Sided Portable Dog Crate that has ventilation and is large enough for them to move around. The easy to carry crate is ideal for pet travel, it’s heavy-duty and water-resistant. If you choose not to use a crate, another great travel necessity would be a SUV Bolster Pet Bed , its heavy-duty nylon allows extreme comfort allowing pets to rest comfortably.

We also can’t forget the most important thing for all pets… water! I know first-hand that not all dogs can drink out of a water bottle like we do but it doesn’t mean you have to carry around a bulky Tupperware.  Instead, try the Jennifer Brooks Collapsible Travel Food Bowl that offers a touch of style and convenience for the on-the-go pet. And best of all, it collapses flat for easy packing.

Lastly, like you should for your family, you should also always carry a first-aid kit for your furry friend. The Sporting Dog First Aid Kit is veterinarian approved and packed with all the supplies you need to treat your dog in any situation.

Safe Travels!
