Pregnancy Trend: Babymoons?

Here at Gifts, we like to pride ourselves on keeping up with the trends, but somehow this one completely flew under our radar: Babymoons. We’ve all heard of Push Presents, where new Moms get something special just for them after giving birth, but what about celebrating before the baby arrives?

The term has various definitions; one describing the bonding period after the baby is born, another is a vacation a couple takes together with the intention of getting pregnant, and most recently, it has come to describe a mini getaway for expecting parents before the chaos of having a newborn takes over. Think of it as, the calm before the storm.

Catering to this relatively new trend, spas and resorts now offer specialty packages for parents-to-be featuring services like pre-natal massages and couples spa treatments. Babymoons are all about keeping things relaxed and low key, so naturally beach resorts are a popular destination.

Just be sure to pack a cute maternity swimsuit and a comfortable and cute dress for the trip. Maternity wear doesn’t have to be frumpy, the term “hot mama” exists for a reason.

Maternity gifts make for a great Babymoon or Baby Shower present. I love this soothing “Pampered Pregnancy Body Wash” by Belli Skincare, a favorite of expecting Moms. So whether you’re planning a Babymoon yourself or have friends or family that are expecting, here are some great travel tips from SheKnows for a relaxing pre-baby vacation.

Now’s the time to catch up on those Zzzzz’s, you’re gonna need them! Have you ever taken a Babymoon?
