Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and what I love most of all is throwing a fun spooktacular event. This year I’m helping my sister throw a fun Halloween party for my nephew and all his friends. We picked a Halloween Fun House as our central theme for the party with lots of candy, games and spooky décor. Here are a few tips to help your throw your own spooktacular party.

1. Start with the invitations. I personally love creating my own and Martha Stewart has an excellent selection of DIY templates for any Halloween party. If you want something already completed tinyprints has a great selection.

2. Décor…When it comes to setting up your party you can go as simple as setting up a fun dessert & appetizer table of all classic kid friendly foods. Your little ghouls will not care how over the top you go so make it fun & delicious. Add some fun cake pops for easy treats and other fun finger foods with a Halloween twist.

3. Games! The best kid’s parties are always filled with fun games. Potterybarn kid’s spooky lab game has four openings for guessing the frightful items hidden behind it. Also have a photo opp with their magic is in the air game. The printed artwork canvas allows for easy hanging so you can take frightfully fun photos anywhere! Become a ghost, cat or witch it’s your choice.

4. Party Favors… If you’re going to give out candy as your favor dress it up! I love the idea of putting candy in individual treat bags and then using it as part of your table décor. Potterybarn kids have mini treat pals that will look great as part of your tablescape and is also a fun goodie bag that kids will be able to use again. You could also fill these mini treat pals with fun monster tattoos or other fun Halloween gifts. I love Chasing Fireflies Halloween crackers when open it contains a fun surprise of a spider ring, joke and a hat.
