As for giving, I hope to go visit Mom & help her out around the house as well as take her some frozen home made meals that she can eat on for a few weeks.

I have never met a harder working, stronger or more caring woman in my entire life. She has taught me so much and without her, I would not be the person I am today. My mother is an amazing woman and terrific parent to my little brother and I along with her 2 step children whom she has grown to love and care for, just as if they were her own. My only cause for complaint is that she doesn’t always leave time for herself. At the end of the day the thoughts running through her head are nothing along the lines of, “Ohh.. I want to go shopping tomorrow for a new outfit” or “Hey! I should go out tonight because it’s been a long week and I deserve it!”. No, the thoughts that run through my mothers head before she goes to sleep at night are, “Oh, I can’t forget about Amber’s recital tomorrow” or “Those invitations for Johnny’s birthday need to be finished and sent out right away..”. She worries whether she is going to be able to make the mortgage payment on time and if the phone is going to get disconected again because she couldnt pay the bill. She deserves a break and a little “her” time, and what better an occasion and excuse than Mother’s Day? She would honestly, break down in tears of gratitude and joy over this gift. Just the recognition alone is enough for her but, I would like to be able to do more than that for her this mothers day. She has earned it and I cannot imagine anyone being more deserving!

My Mom is the most giving person I know. She never takes any time for herself, so my brother, sister-in-law and I are planning a day just for her wher she doesn’t have to cook, clean or worry about anything but spending time with her family (which is hard to do lately since we are all grown up and making our schedules work is hard!). We are trying to get some of her favorite things and items to pamper her and make a large gift basket-this would be a great addition!!

Posted by momof2dancers | April 27, 2008 @ 4:07 pm
Being that I have a husband (although a great man) that does not believe in giving gifts for any reason (even the birth of our three kids). I would love to recieve this gift for myself just because I don’t think I’m a bad person but I don’t want to sound bad and ask my husband for it either…I would love and be thrilled to find that I have been awarded a gift like this. Talk about pure pampering for me.
I would love to say that I want to “give” this gift to my own mother but she disowned me many years ago and all we have now is ourselves (my husband, three children and myself). I don’t have any outside friends because I seldom leave the house since I’m working towards (online) earning my bachelors degree in computer science.
I love the contest opportunity and hope I get a chance to win it.
Happy Mother’s day to all and good luck as well
