Go Green Gadgets: Schwinn BikeJanuary 14, 2009Posted by: Dan T.
Schwinn was at CES showcasing and offering test rides of their aptly named “Tailwind” electric bike. With the help of a quick charging Toshiba Super Charge ion Battery, a swift biking pace can be easily maintained without any of the sweat. When the Tailwind’s motor kicks in after a few pedal cranks, it feels like a forceful, yet gentle push that makes you really pick up the pace. On a fully charged battery, the Tailwind should be able to cover roughly 25-30 miles, and with a really fast battery charge turn-around time of 30 minutes, you’re always close to a fully charged bike. With top pedal assisted speeds of just over 15 mph, the Tailwind might actually be a quicker (and certainly a Greener) daily commute solution. |
