Mother’s Day Gift: Eco-Friendly RobeApril 18, 2008Posted by: Julie K.
Not only is this robe luxuriously soft and silky, it's super eco-friendly, made of a blend of organic cotton and bamboo yarns and made in a factory that uses wind-power. It's a great Mother's Day gift for moms that strive to be green and like to be pampered. Want to win? Post a comment below and tell us why you like green gifts by 11:59 p.m. EST Thursday, April 24. Make a Green Fashion StatementFebruary 26, 2008Posted by: Megan H.
The chunky resin bracelets come in two shades of green: bright Kelly and a lighter frosted hue. But the best part is that they actually make a difference: For each bangle sold, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Natural Resource Defense Council. So go ahead and stack 'em up. And give a few to your enviro-conscious Trendanista chums while you're at it. They make a great St. Patty's Day gift (clearly) or birthday gift. |

These pop art figures are ideal for Star Wars fans of any age, perfect for the hipster or the geek. Plus they come without the steep price tag of other pop collectibles. And when the time comes to retire them, they’re made from 100 percent recyclable materials so they won’t end up in a landfill in a galaxy far far away. And stay tuned for more later this year–Hasbro will introduce Indiana Jones and Marvel licensed Mighty Muggs too. |

And the fun part–while the toys are all battery free, they do have electronic components. When kids push the vehicles they power lights and sounds. Each character is tied to a different adventure–Africa, Australia or the Arctic–and each will cause the Discover Rig truck to play different music and stories. They're great gifts to get kids thinking green. Look for Sprig Toys on Gifts.com later this year. |

I also love that when you recycle milk jugs with your child you can explain that your trash can be made into toys and in turn help reduce landfill waste, save energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Look for Green Toys this spring. |
