Whiskey StonesShopping for guys can be very tricky, and finding the perfect gift for my fiancee is even harder.  But you can assume that most guys love a good glass of whiskey, and with these cool Whiskey Stones, their cocktail will never get warm.

While most drinks get diluted quickly when you put ice in them, these whiskey stones will stayed chilled to the last drop. Made from carved soapstone, these stones retain their temperature whether you chill them or heat them up depending on your drink. So whether it's bourbon on the rocks, or a steaming Hot Toddy, this unique gift can be enjoyed year round, or even slipped in his stocking

Whiskey Stones starting at $20.00.

Who’s the Boss?

Dancing Deer Party CookiesFall is here and our gifting sights turn towards…Boss’s Day. Okay, it might be a stretch to figure most people have October 16th circled on their calendar, but observing Boss’s Day is probably a decent move. Here’s why.

First, it’s not a bad thing to be in the good graces of the check signer. Second, any type of Boss’s Day “celebration” will most likely cut in to some work you’d rather not be doing. And lastly, if you (and a few co-workers) pick up the boss a little something, like these AMAZING cookies from Dancing Deer, you’ll all probably end up sharing the goodies. It’s a win-win-win. Here are some other gift ideas for Boss’s Day.

Susan G Komen for the CureWe’re big fans of GourmetGiftBaskets.com, so it’s a pleasure to pass along this tasty bit of news. Over the weekend, GourmetGiftBaskets.com broke the Guinness record for the World’s Largest Cupcake. Unveiled at the Woodward Dream Cruise classic car event in Royal Oak, MI, the record cupcake tipped the scales at over 1200 lbs! That’s about 2 World's Largest Cupcakemillion calories for those of you counting.

So what’s better than a record-setting 1200+ pound triple-vanilla cupcake with pink frosting? How about that the delicious cupcake was cut up into thousands of pieces and served up in exchange for a donations to the Susan G. Komen “Passionately Pink for the Cure” effort to find a cure for breast cancer

Great job Gourmetgiftbaskets.com! Congratulations.

Celebrating Anniversary Milestones

August 10, 2009
Posted by: Dan T.

Leather Wine CarrierMy anniversary is next month, so it’s not too early to start thinking about my gifting game plan. First thing’s first, don’t forget your anniversary day! Yeah, it feels pretty silly to even type that one, but sure enough, many-an-anniversary have been sabotaged by forgetting or nearly forgetting the big day.

Here’s a Gift Guru tip. Sign up with Gifts.com and set an anniversary reminder (and set some birthday reminders while you’re at it). We’ll then send you an email reminder you that your anniversary is approaching (and then another email again on the day of), and we’ll sprinkle in some great gift ideas as well.

Now, sometimes folks get confused about the milestone anniversary gift issue. I believe you can never go wrong when you give a gift from the heart, but it’s sometimes fun to use anniversary milestones to come up with a creative gift. For example, in September, we’ll be marking our 9th anniversary. According to anniversary milestones this is traditionally our “pottery” anniversary with the modern interpretation making it our “leather” anniversary. This leather wine carrier- accompanied by a little bubbly- might just be the way I’m going this year. Here’s a list of the “traditional” and “modern” anniversary milestones. Set those gift reminders!
