iPod Building Block SpeakersI’ve always loved the endless possibilities of LEGOs. Whether you're building mini cities, amped up vehicles or even robots, this iconic brick has come a long way. Now the LEGO craze is going full steam ahead with loads of uber-cool accessories.

Start your collection with these awesome iPod Building Block Speakers. These blocks feature a sound system in disguise for your MP3 player with hidden volume buttons. Or deck yourself out for Back to School with this LEGO Soccer Watch, which resembles other on-trend plastic timepieces but has the unmistakable LEGO dots. Last but not least, I'm crazy about the Cubisto 3-D Frames. Each photo box looks like a LEGO but has a circle cutout where you can display actual objects and photos. Take it from me, they're the ultimate gifts for LEGO lovers and trendy teens this fall!

July 28, 2008

Remote Control SharkI won't dip a toe in the ocean because I saw Jaws when I was about 11 years old.  But in a way I'm thankful, because I can only imagine the impact Discovery Channel's Shark Week has on kids these days. All kidding aside, I look forward to Shark Week every July.  Not only am I amazed abut how much we (humans) don't know about sharks, but I also look forward to seeing some of the fun shark-related products out there that would make great summertime gifts.  So dive in and enjoy these not-so menacing goodies.

For the gadget guru: You don't want the real thing in your pool but that doesn't mean you can't scare your kids with this Remote Control Shark.

For the backyard: Water guns are for amateurs. Up the spray factor with these Shark Attack Water Blasters.

For the kids: Whether it's movie night or Shark Week, kids can cuddle up with the Great White Shark Slippers.

For the professional shark:  Sink your teeth into competition with the Shark Tooth Cuff Links.

For little beach bums: If you dare to take an ocean dip, dry off with a hooded Shark Beach Wrap

Tetris Gold GameBeing the sibling to a master video gamer, I always relished my Tetris victories over my brother. Sure, the graphics were a fuzzy gray and I heard its repetitive theme song in my sleep, but it got me through many car trips and backseat battles. That's why I'm psyched it's back with the Tetris Gold Game.

The handheld gadget contains all the fun of the classic, addictive game but with sharp, bright hues, a 2.5-inch color screen, 10 challenging levels, and four modes including Marathon and Ultra 40, (play with caution).

The best part is that kids and big kids alike can take the device on the go and play anywhere, anytime. It's perfect for your favorite Tech Head or a bon voyage present for a family.

Photo Converters for Dad

June 2, 2008
Posted by: Dan T.

35mm-to-digital Film ConverterWhen it comes to Father’s Day, we know that not all Dads are alike. So where do you start when thinking about getting him a great gift?  There are a few interests that dads seem to universally enjoy.  And conveniently they all start with the letter “G”!- Gadgets, Grilling, Golf and Grooming.  This week, I'll be taking a look at the "4Gs" of Father's Day and serving up some cool gifts for Dad, starting with Gadgets.

It's no secret that guys love their gadgets. And Father's Day is the perfect opportunity to hook dad up with a new electronic toy that will keep him busy for a while, like one of this year's hottest gadgets — the 35mm-to-digital Film Converter. It does exactly what the name suggests — it takes old 35 mm negatives (or slides) and converts them into digital images. And since many dads are the unofficial family historian, this converter will allow all those classic "pre-digital" shots to become part of the family archive.

Along these lines, the Print-to-Digital Converter does basically the same thing, but coverts old physical prints of pictures into digital images. Either way, Dad will be really excited to get one of these gadgets this Father's Day.
