The Gift of PunctualityMay 21, 2009Posted by: Dan T.
One of the five “Gs” of Father’s Day gifting is Gadgets. And like Dads, Grads have their fair share of gadgets too. So here’s a gift idea that’s perfect for both. It’s the iHome iP9 clock radio audio system compatible with both ipod and iphone. I’ve had the iP9 for a few months now and I love it. Two great features I love with the iP9 is waking up to a playlist of my liking from my ipod and having a fully charged ipod (or iphone) when I wake up. I can’t say dad will now enjoy waking up with this alarm clock, and I can’t promise the grad won’t tap the snooze right through that 8:30 AM Film Crit class. I will bet, however, that the iP9 is sure to be an great sounding and appreciated upgrade over their current alarm clock. |

Getting into the Swing of ThingsMay 11, 2009Posted by: Dan T.
The key to getting a golf gift he or she will appreciate is to steer away from specific equipment (unless you’ve been dropped a very specific hint about what to get). Instead, think golf-themed or golf-related items. Two ideas I like for the golfer is getting them a newly published book on golf or a subscription to a golf magazine like Golf Digest. A new golf book on my “To-Read” list is “Breaking the Slump: How Great Players Survived Their Darkest Moments in Golf” by noted T.V. golf/sports analyst Jimmy Roberts. In case your golfer is not a reader, there will be no mulligan needed with these other fine golf gift ideas. |

Fiesta TimeMay 5, 2009Posted by: Dan T.
First, Mother’s Day is this coming May 10th. It’s certainly not too late to pick out something for mom. But don’t wait for the last minute. One idea? Get mom a beautiful arrangement of flowers right now delivered to her door, so you won’t have to scramble Sunday morning at the supermarket. We’ve got a great selection- the grocery store does not. And don’t look now, but Father’s Day is just around the corner on June 21st (it will be here before you know it). Lucky for you, we have something for every type of dad. Just imagine, in about 10 minutes from now you can have your Mother’s and Father’s Day shopping done. What are you waiting for? And lastly, you may know someone who is graduating in the next month or two. As we know, Graduations are both endings as well as beginnings. Honor the deserving graduate in your life with a thoughtful gift that honors their achievements or prepares them for the future. |
