Happy Memorial Day Weekend from the GurusMay 22, 2009Posted by: Dan T.
And while, Memorial Day probably isn’t the most gift-able holiday, I love the idea of giving an American flag as a gift. Old Glory makes a great a housewarming gift. While were at it, with millions of grills being fired up this weekend, a grilling gift will certainly be appreciated as a fine gift to host who’s putting together a great Memorial Day spread this weekend. Here are some more of our gift picks for Memorial Day. Have a safe and fun weekend! |

Drink Server for Lazy Summer DaysMay 12, 2008Posted by: Dan T.
This caddy is like having a butler for your pool. Load it up with the works (up to five beverages, plus chips, pretzels and other snacks), then drive it out to the swimmers. You stay dry; they don't have to get out of the pool. Or be like me and just use it for your own personal enjoyment by having someone else stock it while you float around. Give it to your summer host/hostess (it's a gift you'll enjoy equally as much) or as a housewarming gift to new pool owners. Remote Control Snack and Drink Pool Float starting at $49.95 |
Friday Rap Up: Get Your Gift OnMay 25, 2007Posted by: Julie K.
TGIF. It’s a holiday weekend and the kick-off to summer. We’ve got a few ideas about gifts to give and get so that you can make the most of the extra time off and the entire season ahead. For the guy with the best backyard: This bocce ball set is your ticket to crash any Memorial Day BBQ. For your weekend hostess: Start the summer season with colorful party-friendly melamine dishes from Jonathan Adler. (via Hostess with the Mostess) For all the Harry Potter fans under 21: While you’re anxiously awaiting the next installment, enter Scholastic’s contest to win a trip to London where you’ll join J. K. Rowling at a launch event. For Fido: Since you’ll be away for the holiday, make sure your lonely pooch gets fed with an automatic pet feeder.
For your preggers celeb-obsessed friend: Give her a baby gift hand-picked by Hollywood mom-to-be Jenna Elfman. For you and your beach buddy: Get a pair of these incredible lounge chairs. Like massage chairs, they have a hole for your face which makes reading much less awkward. |
A Smarter Way to SkewerMay 25, 2007Posted by: Julie K.
One of my favorite things about summer is BBQ'ing. I'll eat anything made on the grill, but my specialty is kabobs. Shrimp, peppers, marinated chicken—I love it all on the skewer. And now that I have these circle kabobs, my creations actually fit on the plates. Brilliant! I also love that they’re reusable and won’t burn on the fire like standard bamboo skewers. Give these to anyone who loves grilling or entertaining in the backyard. Perfect for your summer hostess or the grill-master on Father’s Day. |
