Happy Groundhog Day!

According to folklore (and Wikipedia), if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue for six more weeks.

Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous season-predicting groundhog who lives in…you guessed it…Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. As much as we love winter and all of the layering, snow sports, and excessive eating that we get to do, we are pretty much ready for spring already!

Lucky for us Groundhog Day is purely folklore. Groundhogs aren’t really weather divining creatures, although they are cute! And, it’s because of their cuteness that we want to wish you a Happy Groundhog Day from Gifts.com. Whether winter is longer or not, a picture of an adorable groundhog will make us happier at least for today. Spread the joy!

What’s your prediction? Do you think winter will be 6 weeks longer or will spring come early?
