Holiday season is in full swing and by now I’m sure you’ve either been to at least one ugly holiday sweater party, attended a corporate “end of year” event or are at least planning your big Christmas Eve dinner with your nearest and dearest. This season is jam-packed with get-togethers, full of cheerful and merry souls, all most likely under the influence of at least one (and probably more) cocktail. Whether you’re just getting through your holiday invites, or are planning a jolly Christmas party of your own, I’ve rounded up my favorite festive concoctions that need to be on the menu. What’s your go-to holiday drink? Tell us in the comments below!

peppermint schnapps and boozy hot chocolate

Let us start with a warm cup of holiday spirit. The Peppermint Schnapps and Boozy Hot Chocolate from Verses From My Kitchen is basically Christmas in a cup. It has all the taste of the holidays with its peppermint and chocolate flavors, and all the joy of a cocktail with the “boozy” counterpart. I will be enjoying several of these, and perhaps one on Christmas morning? The kids will never know! Visit the Verses Blog for the full recipe and ingredients.

Ingredients:

6 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
10 oz. dark chocolate (no more than 72% cocoa), shaved
4 cups whole milk
2 cloves
1 tsp. cardamom seeds
1 cinnamon stick
1 vanilla bean, split
2 heaping tbsp. cocoa powder
2 heaping tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
whipped cream, to top
2 tbsp. shaved chocolate, to top
2 tbsp. candy cane, chopped
cocoa powder to dust

Honey Sage Ginger Fizz

The Honey Sage Gin Fizz from How Sweet It Is. Looking at this cocktail just makes me go “Mmm.” If the gin and sage doesn’t pull you in, the glass rim drizzled with smoked bacon will. Yep. You read that correctly. Bacon on the rim of your holiday cocktail glass. I’ll cheers to that! Visit How Sweet It Is for the full recipe.
