When is Mother’s Day?

Mom. Mama. Mommy. Mother. Whatever you call her, she is probably one of the most important people in your life, one of the key relationships affecting who are you are and who you will become (not to mention who you will, to your great alarm, sound exactly like). My daughter recently asked if I loved her like the song “Love is an Open Door” from “Frozen.” I gave it some thought and think not. To me, a mother’s love is more like turning yourself inside out, body and soul. There’s not much a mother won’t do for her kids: diving into a dumpster to get an accidentally thrown-out plastic character, scaring a bear away, attending a KISS concert or changing the world. So this year, on Sunday, May 11th, celebrate all the mothers out there, those inside-out humans who love like no others.
