The Scoop: What happens when Nicktoons all-stars like Spongebob, and Ren & Stimpy take the field against MLB’s best? You’ll find out in a brand new video game called “Nicktoons MLB” (wii, XBOX, and DS). It’s a bizarre idea that actually makes a lot of sense. When you combine things boys love like baseball, cartoons and video games, how could you go wrong? With all the action taking place in six MLB stadiums and six other unique Nicktoons “venues”, the game of baseball will never look or be the same.

I got a chance to play some Nicktoons MLB at the MLB Fan Cave last week. The active play consoles allow you to pitch and bat in a very real way and makes this game a lot of fun. 2K Play has done a great job transferring the 2K Games expertise in excellent baseball game play into a kid-friendly environment. It’s cool how it all comes together, and how after a few pitches the cartoon and baseball worlds seamlessly mesh.
