Girls Love LEGOs!

Girls love LEGOs too. I know this because my 5 year old daughter and my nieces love to play with them. However, a barrier for girls to really “get into” playing with LEGOs has been that the blocks and building set themes have historically tended to be geared more towards the little guys.
Well, that all changed this year with the launch of the LEGO “Friends” line.
The Friends are five girls who live, work and play in Heartlake City. And while not much of a back story is needed to get girls excited about Friends, the play sets reflect hobbies and activities girls love. Whether it’s caring for animals, going to the beauty shop or playing in a tree house, Friends mini-figure dolls and play set themes are vibrant, colorful and will truly resonate with young girls. Basically, Friends are taking the familiarity of dolls and adding in the fun and creative LEGO construction play element to make a line of toys girls will have a blast playing.
Parents will love that LEGO Friends sets start at around $6 and range up to elaborate sets that go for around $90. Friends are a great birthday gift idea for gals ages 5 and up.
Sets are available now. And we recently got a preview at Toy Fair of some really cool Friends sets that will be released later in 2012.
I love LEGO Friends for girls who love their dolls but also love playing with their brother’s LEGOs!
PS- The LEGO Friends site also has a few Friends goodies that add an interactive experience to the Friends story.
