Guru Review: Adidas Boat ClimaCool Shoes

For me, the Summer 2011 has been the summer of the boat shoe. No, not the retro, ironic, hipster style boat shoe, but the “Boat CC Lace” shoe from Adidas.

Fusing summer style and great utility in and around water, the Boat CC Lace is a super summer accessory. The shoe is made out of quick-drying mesh materials and has a TRAXION sole which is amazingly grippy under slippery, wet conditions.

Aside from the Boat CC’s eye candy color assortment, you’ll immediately notice the mesh covered holes underneath the shoe. This open drainage component means the shoe is ideal for activity in, around or near water. These holes mean that a completely submerged shoe will be well on its way to drying once it’s out of water.

If your summer has you running from the pool, to the beach, to the store to get lunch, and then back to the water, the Boat CC will be your new summer buddy.

This summer I’ve been living in mine and love them for their comfort and their funky summer usefulness.

(Disclosure: Adidas Outdoor provided a pair of Boat CC Lace shoes for review)
