Tee Off with PGA Golf
Later today, I have a tee time at the Augusta National Golf Club.
Up until today, I had ZERO chance of becoming an Augusta Golf Club member and pretty much that same chance an Augusta member, like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett or Jack Welch might invite me for round.
But thanks to EA’s Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12, playing Augusta has gone from the last line entry on my bucket list to the top of today’s “To-Do” list.
The Tiger Wood PGA TOUR game franchise has been a peerless golf gaming experience since 1998 and has annually raised the bar to (successfully) challenge itself to become better and more relevant each year. They may have ultimately outdone themselves with TWPGAT12 this year (but I think that every year!). Here are some key features to TWPGAT12:
-“The Caddie Experience”: Like every tour pro knows, having a caddie who can assist with club selection and shot suggestions can only make for a better golfer.
-Playstation Move Support allows for top notch active play experience on the PS3 with Move. Fine tune your real-life swing to further master your virtual golf career.
-“Fast Golf” and a new game save feature allows you to play on your terms. Blast through a quick game at twice the pace of a normal game and/or save a game when time doesn’t allow for an uninterrupted full 18.
-The familiar broadcast team of Jim Nantz and David Feherty will add yet another realistic layer to the game play.
-Lots more options: More new PGA players to play with and more world famous courses to play means tons of replay value there.
But unquestionably the greatest draw to TWPGAT12 is Augusta itself. Golf fans worldwide have waited for this moment- the chance to play the hallowed course. EA has nailed every last detail of this pristine shrine to golf. Game screenshots are nearly impossible to differentiate from photos from the real Augusta. From “Tea Olive” (the first hole) right on through “Holly” (the 18th hole), golfers for the very first time, will feel the thrill of playing the best golf has to offer. Want to stare down Amen Corner and compete like a pro to contend for a Green Jacket? Step right up but don’t forget your “A” game. Additionally, the game will allow players to recreate memorable moments from the Masters while you try and replicate the iconic events and shots from the past.
While, TWPGAT12 is a golfer’s dream come true one tiny, little sliver of me can’t help but wonder how TWPGAT13 can get any better than this?
Today golf heaven is officially open to the masses
