Your Own Personal Trainer
Don’t look now, but 2011 is pretty much here. As we flip the calendar page late next week, many will be compelled to get their New Year’s resolutions out of the concept phase and into the action phase. My resolution(s) will certainly have to do with keeping active and doing a lot of running, so I’m really glad I came across the miCoach Pacer from Adidas.
A few weeks ago, I was sent the miCoach trainer and have had a lot of fun taking it on my workouts. MiCoach is a basically just that- an interactive gadget that coaches you through workouts. It works in concert with your MP3 player and interacts with both a sensor you wear on your shoes and a heart rate monitor (strapped to your chest).
You can simply go for a run and have all your vital workout stats recorded. So when you get home and sync your miCoach you can see great data like run distance, time, pace and heart rate activity.
Even better, you can program your miCoach to interact with you along your workout and to audibly push you or keep you in a target heart rate zone. The interactivity of a miCoach workout really separates it from others in the workout gadget category like the Nike+ system.
So if New Year’s resolution involves working smarter or even if you’re looking for a cool new workout partner, the miCoach would make a great gift idea!
