We have gotten some truly stellar folks to join us in our search for the best gifts of 2011 and each week, we’ll be featuring one of them right here on the Gift Rap Blog.

Meet 2011 Giftee Awards Judge Taryn Mohrman, lifestyle editor at Parents Magazine. Parents Magazine is one of America’s most trusted magazines for families. In fact, it is such a staple of American culture that it is actually celebrating 85 years of publication this month! That means that not only our parents, but our grandparents most likely flipped through its pages for advice on managing a house full off little ones. We look forward to another 85 years of wisdom from its pages.

Taryn covers “Lifestyle, Home, Solutions, Gifts, and Green” and has appeared on parenting and lifestyle segments for the Today Show, ABC News Now, Better TV, and Parents TV. To say that she knows a thing or two about kids, products and gift giving would be an understatement.

Needless to say, we are totally enthused to have her on the panel for the 2011 Giftee Awards to help determine the best gifts of the year. But, what made her jump at the chance?

“Being a Giftees judge is a wonderful opportunity to see first-hand what people all over the country love to give and get the most! I’m really excited to see if the gifts that are nominated are fun or functional – or both!”
