The Product: The G-Form iPhone Case (Available 2/15/12 for around $39)

The Scoop: I first met up with G-Form at the Outdoor Retailer show last summer. Using their Reactive Protection Technology, G-Form is in the the business of protecting everything this from bones to iPads. In fact, at OR last summer, they dropped a few jaws when the demoed their iPad sleeve by (continuously) dropping a bowling ball on to a G-Form protected iPad. Not to outdo themselves, but apparently, a bowling ball is yesterday’s news. Recently, G-Form tested their iPad sleeve by dropping an iPad from space. Sure enough, the protected iPad did indeed survive a 100K foot drop.

A huge theme at CES 2012 was mobile accessories, so I had a feeling G-Form would be poised with some new products in the category. It was great to see G-From showcasing a soon to be released iPhone case on the floor at CES. G-Form has taken everything they know about device protection and sized to fit your iPhone.

In reality, a phone needs to be able to survive drops from about six feet (counter tops, drops while operating the device, drops from backpacks, etc). But it’s good to that your phone could survive nearly every imaginable type impact. From the proto-types on display (image) the cases look really techy and cool yet don’t appear to add excessive bulk. I also love that G-Form has added some new colors to the line in addition to their recognizable yellow and black options.

A Great Gift For: for iPhone lovers with butter fingers.
