Gift Gurus get excited when a product comes out that WE KNOW will be an extremely popular gift for months (if not years) to come.

March 27th is D-Day…more specifically 3D-Day when Nintendo releases its highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS to their handheld console line. And from all early indications, buzz and reviews, the 3DS will be a must-have finding its way to the tops of tons of gift wish lists this year.

The blockbuster selling point on this feature loaded console is – wait for it….3D! The 3DS not only brings very cool 3D gameplay to a handheld device, but does it WITHOUT the use of ultra-cool 3D glasses. Just as cool, the two side-by-side outward facing cameras allow you to shoot and display your own 3D images! On the console there a 3D slider which allows the user to adjust and maximize the intensity of the 3D effect. You can even turn off the 3D effects all together and the 3DS will provide the most vibrant gaming experience a Nintendo handheld has ever offered.

Some other very cool features on the 3DS are a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope for more motion-compatible game play, an included charging cradle, and of course, the 3DS is fully compatible with all your existing DS games and DSi download games.

So the question is not if you’ll get the 3DS, but whether you’ll choose this sweet game-changer in Aqua Blue or Cosmo Black!
