Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (a.k.a “OR”) is the world’s largest outdoor sports industry gathering!

This is THE place to find the hot products, the latest trends and see the “coming soon” goods from over 1000 outdoor lifestyle brands.

The trick for a Gift Guru is to find the fun, unique, helpful and ultimately “gift-able” products from the thousands on hand. Here’s one I love:

The Gift: The CamelBak All Clear UV Water Purification System (February 2012 around $99)

The Scoop: CamelBak’s new water purification system will allow anyone to make safe drinking water anywhere in one minute.

Literally with the press of a button the All Clear uses a high-powered ultraviolet light to essentially get ride of all bacteria, viruses and protozoa in water making it safe to drink.

With simple directions permanently printed on the included bottle, the All Clear can sterilize 0.75 liters of water in 60 seconds, and UV bulb lasts more than 10,000 cycles (roughly 3 liters of water per day for seven years).

A Great Gift For: Global travelers, outdoors lovers, and emergency preparedness kits (first home and first apartments)
